Vaad Ha Tznius - Laundry Guidelines
Question
Must I install a mehitzah in order to separate the men's washing machine and drying machines and the women's washing and drying machines? If yes, how high does that mehitzah wall need to be and can the fabric of the mehitzah wall be see-through or must it be opaque? please respond at your earliest Answer Thank you for your very important question. A Mechitza is NOT ADEQUATE. The machines MUST be located in two separate rooms. It is best that these two rooms not be connected by a doorway, however, if this is unavoidable, then a door MUST be fitted and if the door MUST be fitted with a self closing mechanism. Those who tremble before Gd will check the closing mechanism every week. It is a Segulah to check every Erev Shabbos. |
It has come to our attention that many families, including those who pride themselves on following all aspects of Halacha, are regularly not conforming to proper Tznius guidelines. Unbelievably, many, many families are washing men's and women's clothing together and not only together but also at the same time and not only at the same time but also in the same washing machine.
This is an unprecedented breach of Tznius!!! How could anyone think that one is allowed to wash men's and women's undergarments at the same time in the same washing load?!!! What has our nation come to when people have fallen to such a low level? For shame!!! This practice must stop!!!! Who knows how many beautiful and precious Neshomos have been lost, defiled, corrupted, tainted, distorted and tormented by the horrific consequences of such insensitive, reckless and sinful activity going on without regard in our very homes which we struggle so mightily to maintain as sanctuaries of Gdliness. We wish to restore the beauty which is truly ours, to our families and to our communities. Given this we are advising, begging and demanding that the following guidelines regarding the holy and Kosher method of doing laundry.

Our forefathers lived in a land that was between two rivers - the Tigris and the Euphrates. The reason is obvious to anyone who thinks into it a bit. One river was used to wash women's clothing and the other to wash men's clothing. Surely we can and MUST continue this tradition by observing the rules stated above. We are confident that everyone who takes Yahadus seriously will abide by the guidelines stated above. We are confident that by enshrining these important guidelines HaShem will spread His Protection and Holiness over us and save us from seeing improper and immodest females and assure us that Beit Shemesh will be rid of its unholy misled deviants who have resisted all our pleasant entreaties to see the light and conceal their bodies in darkness and open their minds to His Light. With Torah Greetings, Names withheld by demand due to concern that our wives will stop doing our laundry. |
