Rabbi Wolpin also recalls, "He would appreciate if he could find a Hetter for something Al Pi Halacha". He would say, "To be Machmir I don't have to be a Rav, a Rav is someone who can find a Hetter Al Pi Torah" And when he understood that something was Assur, he would not compromise."

He understood that to Pasken Halacha one had to understand the person to whom he was speaking and did not impose his personal Chumros on others.Yet he would never compromise Halacha.
